Another school year has started and with the new school year the rush and thrill of trying out for school sports teams kicks off as well.
I have played Soccer competitively from when I was in 6th grade, but I had been playing soccer since I was a little kid, I am a fast sprinter and athlete, and for the last two years my newfound love in sports has been Volleyball.
Basically, I feel like I have experienced the highs and lows of team sports.
Team sports starts with the TEAM. Each one of us brings in a special power, and without each other to support us, our skills on its own wouldn’t suffice.
Team sports teach us to know the value of teamwork. The best teams have the most enviable togetherness spirit. In loss or win situations, they maintain their togetherness and get through the good and hard situations as ONE. I have also had to learn my way through being a good teammate. There have been instances where I could have done better and been there for my peers, and there have been instances which I still cherish as a job well done.
I have carried some of those lessons of the value of a team in building out Teens Who Invest. Each one of us has a role, and we support each other in theirs too. We try to show up for events, we encourage participation, we think positively together when there is so much to do, we exchange ideas in a polite and ethical way, and also important is that we disagree in a healthy way too.
I could go on about the power of teamwork.
I will close by saying this - You and I might have superb ideas and a grand plan for what needs to be done, but WE make it happen.
