Hi everyone! This will be my first blog on Teens Who Invest and I would first like to give you some insight on how to start your own business.
When I was about 10 years old, I was fascinated with wanting to have my own business as I would often see kids and other young figures on TV promoting their own businesses. At first, I struggled coming up with ideas on what I would want to focus on. But I took a second to ask myself, 'what do you love?' Once I asked that question, I figured that I should make my business around walking dogs as I had sustained a passion for walking dogs such as my own. With that idea, I began to create fliers that would not only advertise me and who I am, but also my goals, intentions, and cost/hourly rates. When I finalized the fliers, I put them all around my neighborhood where hundreds of people would be able to see them clearly. After a week or so, I began to get texts, emails, and calls regarding my fliers and people soon wanted to get to know me and get started.Â
After my business was kickstarted, I began having trouble managing and remembering the times that I would walk these dogs. To fix this, I created a google spreadsheet that contained all of the times, dates, and amount of walks each client had paid for, allowing me to be able to better manage my business in a less stressful fashion. Before starting a business, figure out what you love doing and work off of that!
