Hello everyone, I would like to explain my perspective and what I did when it came to advertising my Dog Walking Business to the general public. When I had my idea in mind, I wanted to keep my business strictly in my neighborhood as I didn’t have any forms of transportation that could take me outside of my neighborhood. Not to mention, I was aware that my neighborhood consisted of Elderly and working class individuals that either couldn’t or didn’t have the time to be able to walk their dogs. With this in mind, I knew that my neighborhood would be the perfect place for me to start my business as I knew people would benefit from my services. In my opinion, it’s important to have knowledge on where your business would benefit and be desired by the most people. Appealing to more people makes your odds of generating success and getting paying clients higher.
Now, with the area you want to target in mind, there are many ways you can go about advertising your business. Personally, I created fliers and put them in common areas around my neighborhood, such as my local park and walking paths. This allowed for people all around my area to see my business and who I was. Make sure when making your flier to include some information about you, what your business is on, and a way to contact you, such as an email or phone number. With technology being more prominent now, posting on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter is also a great idea, however, you won't be able to control where your client base will be from as anyone in the world will be able to see your post. In this scenario, it all depends on what you want your business to be about and what audience you want to target.
